The city of Shanghai was already shrouded in night. At Terminal One of Pudong International Airport, Su Cen was sitting on a chair facing a large glass wall, right opposite the Boeing aircraft that was illuminated by flashing lights at the boarding gate. The sharp and massive cabin seemed ready to break through the glass wall any moment now; many American Hollywood movies had similar scenes, and if combined with some commercial elements like Superman rescuing a damsel in distress, they would continue to attract audiences worldwide.

This Boeing aircraft belonged to United Airlines from America. It was also the plane Su Cen was going to take for his trip to San Francisco, USA. In 2002, Chengdu had not yet launched direct flights to San Francisco and New York, so Su Cen departed from Chengdu Airport at seven in the morning and arrived at Shanghai Terminal around nine o'clock, waiting for the flight to America which was scheduled at eleven.

The weather in Shanghai was very cold, similar to that of Chengdu. During this period, a cold front had hit inland China; all across the country, it was equally chilly. Su Cen recalled just a few hours ago when he still wore long clothes and packed his luggage in Chengdu. Su Licheng arranged for his official car to send him off, and as Su Cen got into the car, he saw at a distance Tang Wu's residential complex. He had thought that the driver would detour past there, but unfortunately, they were heading away from it; Su Cen could only watch as the distance between them grew.

The city lights were soon left behind after entering the expressway.

Su Cen left quietly without making a fuss, thinking that his trip to America wouldn't take too much time. He simply told his parents who had processed his passport that he needed to go deal with some trouble for a partner on an American website.

It was easy to imagine the expressions of Su Licheng and Zeng Ke when they heard about this. They were caught off guard by Su Cen's decision. When did Su Cen have businesses in America And now, he would be traveling all the way there for such a long distance. It had already been his first time away from home for an entire semester, but then Zeng Ke thought of how Su Cen hadn't even had a peaceful holiday and was heading to America again; it made her feel empty inside.

After inquiring about the specific situation, Su Licheng asked if he could avoid going. Upon receiving a negative answer from Su Cen, he merely nodded in agreement. Processing the passport for Su Cen and handling the procedures didn't cause him to think too far ahead. As for what kind of website Su Cen had been working on with his American classmates, Su Licheng wasn't very concerned; it was hard to imagine that what Su Cen did back then would eventually become a company destined to connect the world.

Su Cen's actions in Shanghai and the landing of Pineapple Media in the Yangtze River Delta were like a great shock for his family. Zeng Ke, who now wanted to stop Su Cen from going to America just as she had done before, felt for the first time helpless against this move by her son. She could only watch helplessly as he spread his wings and flew away; she no longer had the strength or ability to hold him back.

So Su Cen's departure was swift and necessary because from now on, every moment might cause a change in the future.

Sensing movement beside him, Su Cen followed the gaze of an American大叔 holding today’s China Daily but who seemed to be daydreaming. He saw an eye-catching girl sitting at the front seat, wearing a British tartan cotton dress and red vest over it. A matching tartan scarf was draped around her neck, outlining her relaxed beauty. Black long-sleeved T-shirt highlighted her slender hands resting casually on the bag in her lap; although he couldn’t tell what brand of bag she had, it seemed to match perfectly with her reserved appearance.

Since she walked over from just now to the left and down area, it seems as if there's a trace in the air that still lingers and attracts the gazes of passersby on the moving walkway.

The girl sat down opposite Su Cen, her deep gaze met his, then she smiled.

Su Cen was momentarily stunned but then nodded and smiled back. If the girl was so大方, he couldn't lag behind. He felt quite fond of this girl who could smile at a stranger despite her looks.

However, almost immediately, Su Cen saw that the girl's gaze passed him to look behind, and her smile faltered slightly.

Before Su Cen could turn around to see what happened, a man wearing a yellow thick shirt who appeared very slick walked past him. He was about 185 centimeters tall and looked quite mischievous. When he reached the girl, he grinned awkwardly and said, "Miss, do you mind giving me a front view"

This voice wasn't soft but loud enough to make everyone around them flinch. In a subway, this would be considered a small harassment act by a thug, but in this place, it was even more shocking.

Su Cen thought, Can it be Is the heroine really being harassed now It's time for the main character to step forward and give this brat a good scolding. Looking around himself, he felt like he should be the one to act, but he still needed to consider how to deal with this situation next.

But upon looking around, Su Cen noticed that there were others who also wanted to play the role of the main character, as evident from their angry expressions. Clearly, beautiful things are cherished, and when they encounter potential threats, people react accordingly. Not only Chinese people but even a few foreign youths who understood Chinese became alert and stared at the slick man.

It was really odd for this guy to choose such an amateurish way of making his appearance, just like something out of a movie or novel.

But then he saw the girl lift her head and smile slightly. This made Su Cen realize that his judgment had been incorrect.

The girl indeed said to the man, "Stop fooling around."

The man chuckled as he sat down at a nearby seat, casually placing his bag and sitting in a rather arrogant manner. Although this move looked cool, it was clear from the way he sat that he had an air of slickness about him. He said, "Even though you intentionally left early by half an hour and turned off your phone at this moment, even going so far as to use the excuse of not being able to get a first-class seat for an economy one to separate our seats, my desire to be closer to you will not waver." Then he continued in a low voice, "As long as there's still a chance."

The girl gave him a faint smile as though looking at an older kid, choosing not to refute or argue with him but instead turned her head away.

Su Can thought that this guy was really reciting lines. However, the meaning behind them was quite clear – you hate me and want to get rid of me, but I'm going to stick around no matter what.

It was obvious that those who couldn't display their leading role aura were rather disappointed. Soon after, passengers started boarding the plane.

Su Can entered the cabin and walked towards his seat, only to find that sitting beside him was actually that girl. Su Can froze for a moment, but when she looked up and recognized him, she smiled and moved her body inward so that he could place his luggage on the overhead compartment.

Right then, Su Can's shoulder got slapped; turning around, it was the guy from before pointing to the front of the cabin and asking Su Can, "Hey man, I know this lady. Could you please do me a favor and switch seats with me"

The man saw that Su Can was staring at his sunglasses and handed them over to be clipped on Su Can's collar. "Ray-Ban sunglasses, you have good taste. It’s settled then, let’s swap seats."

It wasn't strange for the guy to act this way; he had a considerable background as did the girl. In his eyes, someone sitting in economy class couldn’t be that important anyway. Sometimes it was just an exchange of sorts, where dignity, etiquette, honor and such were nothing more than bargaining chips.

Ray-Ban was a brand of sunglasses used by the US Air Force; he wasn't sure if this guy would resist temptation. Nonetheless, the thought still made him wince slightly.

The girl watched on and stared at Su Can with an expression indicating she hadn’t expected such a seemingly decent man to act like this. But didn’t she understand that this was raw reality

However, she soon felt a glimmer of hope when Su Can removed the sunglasses from his collar and handed them back to the guy, smiling as he said, "Sorry for misunderstanding, but I think this seat is fine, no need to switch."

He then looked at the girl beside him. "At least the view here is nice."

Only after placing his luggage on the overhead compartment did he do so.

The man was left stunned; looking at Su Can from head to toe with a face that went through several expressions, even scrutinizing his buttons in detail before finally revealing an expression of disdain as if to say, 'What are you pretending to be high and mighty for'

Rubbing the sunglasses in his hand, he smiled at the girl and said, "That's a surprise. Looks like you won't be able to sleep on my shoulder then. See you when we get off the plane."

The guy was straightforward. After saying that, he turned around and walked away gracefully. Although it might not have moved the heart of this girl named Song Zhen, it certainly piqued the interest of quite a few girls in the cabin.

However, this comment made both Su Can and the girl feel awkward. Subconsciously thinking that if she were sitting next to him, he would be her support That would indeed be a little romantic encounter.

This incident was certainly an interesting twist; the plane took off.

During the flight between China and America, the girl apologized to Su Can with a smile. "For what happened just now, thank you."

"What are you thanking me for For not accepting his gift" asked Su Can.

It had to be said that this Song Zhen was indeed very beautiful and it could be seen that she had mixed blood heritage. In terms of appearance, she was on par with Tang Wu and Lin Luoran. At this moment, facing Su Can's question, she raised her head, her dark pupils gazing deeply, her lips curved in a confident smile that gave Su Can the feeling of being seen through. "Thank you for not letting him sit next to me. I'm also relieved that the 'view' is more attractive than those sunglasses to your eyes."

Implicitly, this was a counterattack against Su Can's previous statement about her, "At least the view is nice," with a playful tone. She had seen Su Can looking at the man's sunglasses but didn't realize that his gaze happened to be there by chance and was interpreted in another light.

Su Can felt extremely awkward and sensed the power of calmness emanating from this beautiful girl, who was around his age. This calmness wasn't like Tang Wu's natural aloofness; it was rather a kind of placidity written on her face after seeing too much.

If not for his two lifetimes' worth of soul, even the future him wouldn't be able to see through this much when standing in front of her, except for her beauty that made others dare not look directly into her eyes.
