Su Cen didn't wait for Lin Luoran to confront him. Instead, he was greeted by the headache-inducing Mu Kaiqian.

In recent times, Su Cen had received many calls, and his tranquil life had been disrupted. Not only in his dormitory or its building but also in Tang Wu's girls' dormitory and throughout the girls’ residential area, people who knew his name and identity covered quite a few areas of the South District Dorms, even spreading to the North District.

Initially, things were bearable. There wasn't much media coverage or public concern. Even if someone noticed, they didn’t show significant reaction. Su Cen once thought that Jian Hua had made an error in judgment. However, as time went on, he started to see the signs.

Nowadays, whenever Su Cen walked down the stairs and along the way, he occasionally got recognized by others. There would always be someone watching him from a distance, whether it was at the dining hall or when walking towards the teaching building, even in crowded convenience stores where people chattered about him.

So, when Mu Kaiqian called Su Cen to pick her up, he wasn't surprised. The most intense situation had already happened; what else could there be But hearing that Mu Kaiqian was at Nan University and asking for his pickup made Su Cen slightly confused.

When Su Cen arrived at the front gate of Nan University, Mu Kaiqian’s changed appearance nearly blinded him. She had abandoned her previous mature style and now wore a light yellow dress with small floral patterns, emulating her sister's hairstyle by tying back her hair in a ponytail, though she dyed it brown and curled it into a candy-shaped accessory. Despite being shorter than Tang Wu, Mu Kaiqian’s long, healthy tanned legs peeking out from under the skirt of her dress in matching yellow single shoes made for an entirely new, innocent look.

"If I recall correctly, your cousin Zhang Yue is also at Nan University, in the sophomore year of Information College. Your sister should be taking classes now. So, was he busy with his class as well and needed me to pick you up" Su Cen asked the smiling Mu Kaiqian.

"Isn't skipping class okay" Mu Kaiqian, who had a commanding tone despite once revering Su Cen, glared at him with her usual spoiled attitude. "I said I wanted to visit you guys here at Nan University today. Neither Zhang Yue nor my sister knew about it. Actually, if I made calls, there would be plenty of people waiting for me at Yangpu University City, and they’d definitely offer me a Mercedes or BMW ride. But I didn’t tell anyone; instead, I called just to have you pick me up. Isn’t that an honor"

Su Cen was both amused and perplexed. "Well, indeed it is an honor. However, without a Mercedes or BMW at my disposal, could a regular sedan do

"What puzzles me is why don't you drive to school yourself" asked Mu Kaiqian.

Su Cen said, "Do you think it's appropriate for me to drive to school every day"

Mù Qiàn thought about it and nodded. "Right, my friends don't seem to be driving every day either."

Mù Kǎiqiàn’s social circle at the very minimum included children of second-tier political and business figures in Shanghai, so he still had the confidence to say this.

Su Cen couldn’t figure out what Mù Kǎiqiàn, as a daughter from a wealthy family, was thinking. He thought that later on, it might be best to inform Tang Wu. She probably just wanted to take a stroll around Nan University. Then he and Tang Wu could treat her to a small meal in the school to entertain her.

Seeing groups of students passing by, Mù Kǎiqiàn giggled and leaned close to Su Cen.

"There really are quite a few guys who like to stare at girls in your school. Just like before, they haven’t changed."

Su Cen found this comment awkward to hear. He only replied, "Isn't your skirt too short It’s above the knees. Shouldn’t you pull it down" This girl also inherited her family's excellent genes—her physique was great in every aspect—and with such an eye-catching yellow dress, it wasn't surprising that she drew attention from the students at Nan University.

"Who says it’s too hot outside… Besides, this is a one-piece dress. How can I pull it down Don’t you think that looks unsophisticated" Mù Kǎiqiàn said with a smile. "Although I didn’t tell my sister to come to Nan University, how would I know if she isn’t here right now Besides, don’t worry. Even though I’m skipping class and coming here, I’ve announced to my family that I’m going to play with you guys. So Brother Su Cen, please be nice to me; it’s best not to bully me. My every action might already be known by my parents, aunt, uncle, even Grandmother and Grandfather."

Su Cen felt a chill in his heart, thinking that this girl was indeed quite formidable. It seemed he had no choice but to deal with her.

He said, "Are you visiting other schools or something I can tell from your tone that you’ve come to Nan University more than once."

Should we take a stroll around the campus, or find a café to hang out at and wait for your sister to finish her class It's inevitable to entertain such characters. Su Cang opted for a compromise, which seemed reasonable since Mu Kaiqian behaved herself in front of Tang Wu, who had a commanding presence that kept her in check. Later on, Mu Kaiqian said, "I've been here before, but I'd like you to show me around today."

Su Cang nodded and led Mu Kaiqian along the school's few paths. However, Mu Kaiqian’s attire was too eye-catching even for Su Cang to feel a bit anxious about the male students at Nankai who might be admiring her long legs in this weather. This made him think of Tang Wu's smooth, slender legs and how refreshing that would be on such a sweltering day.

But soon enough, he dismissed these thoughts, as they were only making his blood boil unnecessarily. While accompanying Mu Kaiqian to tour the campus gardens with their distinctive Jiangnan architectural style—such as the Japanese Research Center with Su Buqing’s inscription and the Pavilion of the Water Pavilion—he found himself less familiar than she was with each nook and cranny. This made him feel like he wasn't the host, so he pointed to a pavilion and prepared to introduce it.

Mu Kaiqian said, "I know this pavilion; I cried here."

Su Cang glanced at Mu Kaiqian. She didn’t continue speaking, so Su Cang didn't ask either, thinking that she must have a story from her time at Nankai.

After a while, Mu Kaiqian couldn't hold back and turned to stare at Su Cang, saying, "You don’t want to know why I was crying"

Su Cang had long since outgrown being overly sentimental. Why would Mu Kaiqian cry Over a breakup Feeling melancholy about spring Or something like that Regardless of how precocious she might be for her age, it still fit within the realm of emotional expression. But to Su Cang, why she cried was none of his business.

He just shook his head.

Mu Kaiqian stared at Su Cang for a while and then laughed, looking up, "I was crying with someone else. I heard about something quite hotly debated recently on my university’s campus—someone named Su Can is one of the founders of an American startup called Facebook. I also have an account there to keep in touch with some sisters overseas. It's really convenient and has great features. Brother Su, you came up with this idea and established such a network; I admire you very much. Some friends of mine are heirs to companies worth tens of millions or even billions, but looking at what you've accomplished on your own without family resources, they can’t compare to you."

Su Cang was taken aback for a moment as he looked at Mu Kaiqian speaking earnestly. He then said, "I see; have you already confirmed this from your sister"

"Not exactly, but when I first heard the news, my first thought was of you. Then I just verified it with Sister Wu," Mu Kaiqian smiled at Su Cang. She didn't overreact because she came from a wealthy family in politics and business herself; thus, she wasn’t too surprised to confirm Su Cang’s identity as one of Facebook's founders. However, there was unmistakable admiration in her eyes.

"And I also know that you've become quite famous at NanDa. But this isn't something Sister Tang Wu told me; Zhang Yue mentioned it to me," Mu Kaiqian gave Su Cen a smile and then they turned into an elegant European-style teaching building along the way, "Follow me." Su Cen wasn't sure what was going on but followed Mu Kaiqian up the stairs and eventually arrived at a large auditorium that looked bustling from afar.

However, there were several banners outside this auditorium which read "Final Round Rehearsal of Campus Singer Contest". Su Cen paused for a moment, naturally feeling a sense of familiarity. In his memory, the campus singer contest was basically an annual event at every university and not exclusive to their era; even in the 1990s, such events were already taking place on campuses. The earliest edition of Tsinghua University's campus singer competition seemed to have started as early as 1992, usually featuring a simple stage with guitar-wielding boys and girls dressed in their favorite clothes performing energetically—essentially the earliest form of university talent shows. However, these events were very popular on campuses and full of unexpected surprises.

Everyone had at least some dreams of stardom. Everyone liked to showcase themselves on stage, just like Song Zhen whom Su Cen knew in America, who harbored a princess-like dream of becoming a star. But few people were as fortunate as her to be able to buy their dreams and friendships with wealth, only for everything to turn into ashes at the peak of success. She then returned calmly to her normal life but her heart had already ceased to be ordinary.

Su Cen often reminisced about those days when he carried a guitar, dressed in clothes that seemed out of place and uncoordinated now, yet confidently strumming and singing—this was the most brilliant part of his college youth, a passion that no amount of future cheering could ever recover.

Su Cen had heard about preliminary rounds for singer contests across various campuses but never found time to watch them. Now unexpectedly here at the final round rehearsal site, it turned out to be quite grand considering there would be some school leaders present during the actual finals.

The auditorium was filled with people, including student union members, various student organizations, audience members, judges, and contestants. There were never any shortages of handsome men and beautiful women in such settings, naturally so. As Su Cen and Mu Kaiqian entered, they didn't attract as much attention as the recently熱議中的蘇燦;反而是一身清純無敵卻又夾雜著性感的穆楷塹。

這讓台上正在打著架子鼓彈唱的一個四人帥鍋組合表演都愣了一下。

Mu揩塹轉過頭對蘇燦一笑,一股淒婉的感覺流露在外,道,“蘇燦哥,你會保護我的吧?”

Su Cen immediately felt something was off and then saw a scene that left him in disbelief.

The band performing on stage, consisting of four handsome young men playing drums and singing, was momentarily stunned.

Mu Kaiqian turned back to Su Cen with a smile and an expression that seemed poignant, saying, "Brother Su, you'll protect me, right"

Su Cen immediately sensed something wrong and then saw something that left him in disbelief.

Mu Kaiqian walked straight up to the center of the auditorium where performers were rehearsing. Before everyone could react or figure out what this beautiful woman intended to do, she suddenly slapped a handsome man who was wearing racing gear and holding an expensive bass guitar right across his face.

Then Mu Kaiqian said to him, "Lu Ming, I'm slapping you on behalf of Cui Xiaoying! Don't think that because you drive a BMW and have some money at home, you can be arrogant. Introducing Cui Xiaoying to you back then was truly blinding my eyes!"he didn't have a class with Tang Wu. This was a required course that just happened to be scheduled differently when they chose their classes; he decided not to make such basic mistakes next semester a...
